Skills Honed, Craftsmanship Shines: The 9th National Foundry Industry Vocational Skills Competition Concludes Successfully

On November 27, 2024, the highly anticipated final of the 2024 "Shengquan Cup" 9th National Foundry Industry Vocational Skills Competition successfully concluded in Yutian County, Tangshan City. Over the three-day event, elite participants from across the country's foundry industry gathered for intense competition showcasing skill and expertise. After exciting theoretical and practical contests, the results were announced during the closing ceremony.

This competition was a tense, fierce, grand, and spectacular industry event. 209 contestants competed on the final stage, demonstrating not only their high levels of professional technical skill but also the positive spirit and dedication of workers in the national foundry industry. The event highlighted the strong ethos that "labor is glorious, skills are precious, and innovation is great." It served as a exemplary model for how vocational skills competitions can lead the way in talent cultivation, effectively fostering an environment where skilled personnel can emerge and excel.

The closing ceremony was attended by over 500 guests, including: Guan Ming, Vice Chairman of the China Mechanical, Metallurgical, and Building Materials Workers' Union of the ACFTU; Zhang Xuguang, Head of the Nonferrous Metals Department at the same union; Pan Qijie, Chairman of the Hebei Equipment Manufacturing and Metallurgical Trade Union; Ren Wenquan, Executive Vice Chairman of the Tangshan Municipal Trade Union Council; Jia Rongyu, Vice Chairman; Chen Dongning, Head of the Economic and Technological Department; Li Kaijun, recipient of the China Skill Grand Award and a top national master foundry craftsman; Lan Zhigang, Deputy Party Secretary and County Mayor of Yutian; Guo Jian, Yutian County Standing Committee Member and Executive Vice County Mayor; as well as representatives from the organizing unit - China Foundry Association: President Zhang Libo, Executive Vice President/Competition Executive Committee Director Fan Qi, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General Wang Dongsheng, General Manager Feng Hongru, Competition Chief Judge Liu Chang, and Professor Hu Jianjun from Tsinghua University. Also present were leaders from event support and sponsoring units, industry experts, judges, contestants, representatives from Jincheng foundry enterprises, media friends, and university faculty and students.
